 card is a small removable mass storage device. It can provide complete 

PCMCIA-ATA functionality and compatibility, plus True IDE functionality compatible with 

ATA/ATAPI-4. 

CompactFlash

 storage products are solid state form factor, it means they contain no moving parts. 

Thus, it provides users with much greater protection of the data than conventional magnetic disk
