Maintenance
Rust on metal surfaces is unavoidable when metal products are used outdoors. Rust is a chemical
reaction between oxygen, water and metal. Most metal is prone to some corrosion over time and you
can expect this to occur over a period. Consequently, this product is not guaranteed against corrosion,
there are however some measures you can take to minimise the possibility of rust:
• Keep metal outdoor product out of bad weather as much as possible.
• Avoid damaging metal coating on surfaces. Each damaged area in the metal and
its protective powder
coating is a place for oxygen and water to contact the metal and begin rust formation.
• Before storing, wash metal parts with soapy water using a soft cloth or brush in
the crevices. Rinse
thoroughly, dry completely and then coat the metal surfaces with a metal wax polish of your choice (e.g.
spray on car wax). This temporarily protects the metal from the oxygen and water in the air. Since the
coating is thin it must be replenished periodically to retain its protective qualities. Follow the
instructions of use provided with the product of your choice.
