6.

The

GMT Super Pulse

has a two-tone response: low con-

ductors (small gold nuggets, fo

conductors (lar

ge gold nuggets, silver coins) give a low

tone.

response at GB=5 (see

Occasionally there

is not enough minera

lization to require

ground balancing (e.g. non-mineralized beaches), and

Grou

Balance

 may be turned of

an

GMT Super Pulse

 will run as a strai

ght PI detector

. This

gives a slight improvement in de

pth but, of course, will respond

to mineralization and eliminates

the ability to discern conduc-

tivities as all tar

gets will produce a high tone.

is used to counteract any interference

which might be due to outside electro-

magnetic sources, such as radio sta-

tions, microwave, s

hort wave, electric

fences, power lines, lightening, electri-

cal storms, or other metal dete

ctors being used nearby

. This

interference is recognized by a wa

the audio threshold, and can mask tar

get signals.

If you are experiencing in

terference, adjust the

Adjustments should be done in

small steps, with a few seconds

between each adjustment to see

if the unit settles down. If you

cannot deal with interference
