RECOMMENDED ROUTINE TEST PROCEDURE
The following test is designed to ensure the continued
protection of your premises and occupants. Because of
the possibility of a failure of the normal lighting supply
occurring shortly after a period of testing, all tests should
whenever possible, be undertaken at times of least risk,
e.g. during daylight hours.
ONCE A DAY
Visual inspection of battery charge LED.
ONCE A MONTH
Each unit should be energised from its battery for about
15 minutes by simulation of a failure of the normal
lighting supply to ensure the LED’s operate in the
emergency condition.
ONCE A YEAR
Each unit should be energised from its battery for the full
rated duration. Inspect the LED’s and if any of them have
failed the whole unit will need to be replaced. The LED’s
will probably continue to operate for approximately
10years but batteries will require replacement every five
years.
1.
Undo the single screw at the bottom of
the body and hinge the body up and
away from the back plate. NB: The body
houses the LED/reflector assembly and
this is electrically connected to the back
plate. Therefore, to completely remove
the main body disconnect the earth lead
from the spade terminal on the base,
and the LED lead from the PCB/module
also located on the base.
2.
Fit the back plate to the wall using the
keyhole slots or the BESA mounting.
3.
Bring the supply cable through the most
convenient entry. Emergency Lighting
circuits must be connected to an un-
switched 230v 50Hz live supply. Connect
the mains supply cable into the terminal
block on the base as follows:- N- Neutral;
E- Earth; L1- un-switched Live; L2-
switched Live (if required).
4.
Re-connect the earth lead to the spade
terminal on the base and the LED lead
to the PCB/module. Replace the body by
hooking over the top of the back plate
and hinging down. Refit the single screw
at the bottom.
Concert EX2S LED wall mounted Exit Signs
Concert EX2S LED Exit signs must be ordered with the appropriate down, left
or right direction legend (changing the Legends on-site is not recommended).
The back-plate should be fitted to the mounting surface using fixings
appropriate to the application. Supply cables should be installed according to
National Wiring Regulations and should suit the type of mounting
arrangement chosen.
The body of the Concert EX2S LED exit sign simply hooks on to the top of the
back plate then hinges down and is retained with a single screw at the bottom.
NB: These units are available with a Self-Test feature. If fitted, this circuit will carry out function checks once per month and indicate any problems with the
battery or circuit.
Concert EX2S LED luminaires use long life LED’s to illuminate the sign legend. Only the battery pack is a customer serviceable part. The batteries are
designed to last for 5years after which time they should be returned to the supplier for recycling and replaced with a new pack.
The sign legends are part of an LED & reflector assembly. Therefore, it is not recommended to change sign legends on site.
