PIE WARMER
INFORMATION SHEET
General Information
•
Pie Warmer units are designed as food warmers and not for cooking food. As such, they are designed for
use with freshly baked or refrigerated products.
•
Best results will be achieved with products being placed into the pre-heated unit.
•
While it is outside the scope of the design of these units to use them with frozen product, if frozen
product is being used, it should be thawed before placing into pie warmer.
Operating Instructions
•
Place Pie Warmer on a stable, level and heatproof surface within reach of power point in an accessible
position for clear use.
•
Pie Warmers are thermostatically controlled.
•
Pre-heat the Pie Warmer on the maximum temperature setting for 10 minutes after this period return the
thermostat to the desired operating temperature usually about 85-90c. The pilot light will cycle on and
off, indicating when the warmer is being heated and when the set temperature has been reached.
•
Please note the Pie Warmer should
not
be operated without crumb tray in position.
•
Avoid lining shelves or racks with foil this reduces the hot air rising. If foil is used to line the drawers or
shelves, the foil must be sufficiently perforated to allow unrestricted circulation of the heated air.
•
Heating is generated from the bottom of the unit. Due to heat emission from the element the hottest
shelves are in the bottom and top so it may be necessary to rotate trays of food.
Approximate times for products to reach serving temperature when thawed (room temperature) foods
are placed in a pre-heated unit are as follows:
Meat Pies
45-60 mins
Sausage Rolls
25-35 mins
Party Pies
25-30 mins
Pasties/Pockets
20-30 mins
