WHELEN
Mounting...
1.
Remove the “Whelen” nameplate from the speaker assembly. This will allow access to the housing mounting
holes.
2.
Position the speaker housing against the bumper so it is centered beneath the grill. With the housing in position,
locate the mounting holes in the housing where the nameplate was previously mounted. Scribe the areas for
drilling and remove the housing from the mounting area. NOTE: If any objects that obstruct and/or impede
the performance of the siren are present the speaker housing may be relocated to another area of the
bumper. Do not select a location that will
interfere with any other vehicle equipment (lights, etc.)!
3.
Drill a .125” pilot hole into the bumper in the scribed areas. Next enlarge these holes with a .531” drill.
4.
Return the housing to the mounting area and insert the supplied socket cap screws through the speaker housing
and the bumper. On the backside of the bumper, place a split lockwasher and nut onto the bolt. Tighten this nut
firmly. Repeat this
procedure for the remaining socket cap screw.
5.
Extend the WHITE (Positive) and BLACK (Negative) speaker wires to your
siren amplifier and connect as outlined in your siren amplifier’s instruction
sheet.
6.
Test the siren for proper operation.
