Operation
Scan-Lock™ (White/Violet):
To use ScanLock, the warning color to be changed (Blue or Amber)
must be active. Pattern changes made to the active color do not effect
the pattern of the inactive color:
TO CHANGE PATTERNS:
To cycle forward to the next available pattern
apply +VBAT to the
WHT/VIO
wire for less than 1 second and release.
To
cycle back to the previous pattern
apply +VBAT to the
WHT/VIO
wire for
more than 1 second and release.
TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT PATTERN:
When the desired pattern is
displayed, allow it to run for more than 5 seconds. The beacon will now
display this pattern when initially activated.
TO RESTORE THE FACTORY DEFAULT PATTERN:
With the power to the
beacon off, apply +VBAT to the
WHT/VIO
wire. Now turn power to the
beacon on. The factory default pattern should now be displayed.
A normally open momentary switch is best suited for Scan-Lock™
operation.
Flash Patterns:
1.
DoubleFlash Phase 1
2.
DoubleFlash Phase 2
3.
SingleFlash Phase 1
4.
SingleFlash Phase 2
SYNC (Grey):
The GREY wire is used to synchronize the flash patterns of other SYNC-
capable devices. Cap this wire if it is not used.
Phase Operation:
Phase 1 flashes
simultaneously
with Phase 1
Phase 2 flashes
simultaneously
with Phase 2
Phase 1
alternates
with Phase 2
Low Power (Violet):
Applying +12VDC to the VIO wire activates Low Power Mode. Normal
power is restored when +12VDC is removed.
Note that Low Power Mode
is for Blue LEDs only.
IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of the installation technician to
make sure that the installation and operation of this product will not
interfere with or compromise the operation or efficiency of any vehicle
equipment! Permanent mounting of this product will require drilling. It
is absolutely necessary to make sure that no other vehicle
components could be damaged by this process. Check both sides of
the mounting surface before starting. If damage is likely, select a
different mounting location.
WARNING! All customer supplied wires that connect to the positive
terminal of the battery must be sized to supply at least 125% of the
maximum operating current and FUSED at the battery to carry the
load. DO NOT USE CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH THIS PRODUCT!
CAUTION! DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THESE LED’S WHILE THEY ARE ON.
MOMENTARY BLINDNESS AND/OR EYE DAMAGE COULD RESULT!

Mounting:
1. Provisions for mounting this beacon to a flat
surface have been provided. As shown at left,
locations for three (3) mounting holes can be
found on the underside of the beacon’s base.
These areas may be tapped as needed.
2. Use the information provided to create a drilling
template. If a wire passage hole is drilled though
the mounting surface, be sure to de-burr the hole
and install an appropriately sized grommet.
3. Remove the protective backing from the
mounting gasket (included). Align the holes in the
gasket with the mounting holes in the base of the
beacon and install. Apply firm pressure to the
gasket surface to promote adhesion.
4. Route the wires through the wire passage hole
and secure the beacon to the mounting surface
using the mounting screw provided.
5. Complete the electrical connections using the
information shown.
IMPORTANT! Before returning the vehicle to
active service, visually confirm proper operation
of this product as well as all vehicle
components/equipment.
