FAULT

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Drain

Foam left in dishwasher

Too much rinse aid, soft water areas
Low rinse temperature.

Refer to Filling the rinse aid dispenser

Use higher temperature program.

Water left in the bottom of unit
Draining slow

Drain system blocked

Check drain hose for kinks, sharp bends & sink

trap for spigot blockage.

Water not being pumped out

Filter blocked

Clean all filters

Wash

Poor quality stainless steel

Use 18/10 grade stainless steel.

Brown spots or pitting of
stainless steel utensils

Detergent being thrown over cutlery
& saucepans.

Load detergent correctly in the dispenser.

Tarnishing of silver

Mixing with stainless steel cutlery

Separate into different sections of the basket.

Detergent left in dispenser

Spray arm holes blocked

Unblock holes

Melbourne: very soft, 30ppm

Perth: hard / very hard

Sydney: soft, 50ppm

Adelaide: hard, 120ppm

bubbles

Hand washing liquid is used

Pour half cup of cooking oil in the dishwasher
and run it without dishes & with no detergent.

Water marks or foggy glasses

Streaks on dishes- dirty inside

Poor quality water/ not enough rinse
aid

Increase rinse aid dosage

Poor loading

Do not overload dishwasher; use the
recommended loading pattern. Ensure that
dishes or cutlery are not preventing either spray
arm from rotating. Remove large food particles
before placing dishes in the dishwasher.

Select “Heavy” wash program.
