Wiring Kit
T-Connector
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2.
Open rear hatch. Remove driver and passenger side
taillights by removing two 8mm bolts that hold each one in
place shown in
Figure 1
. Identify vehicle’s taillight connectors.
They will be similar to those on the T-Connector. Separate
vehicle’s connectors taking care not to damage the locking
tabs. Inspect connectors for dirt and debris and clean if
necessary.
3.
Unseat rubber grommet on both sides shown in
Figure 2
.
Using an utility knife make a small slit in grommet from center
to outside, away from the factory wire harness, taking care not
to damage any wires.
4.
Inside the vehicle remove all floor mats and spare tire
cover. Remove rear treshold and side cargo trays on both side
of spare tire shown in
Figure 3
. On driver side remove cargo tie
down shown in
Figure 4
and gently pull side panel away from
vehicle body taking care not to break any alignment tabs or
damage panel.
5.
On drivers side route T-Connector ends with the
Yellow
wire behind the side panel and through opening where grommet
was removed in Step 3. Position connectors between separated
vehicle harness connectors shown in
Figure 5
and press connectors
firmly into vehicle connectors until they lock into place. Pull on
connectors to ensure locks are engaged.
6. There are two ways to mount the ground ring on White wire:
6a.
Locate a clean accessible mounting location on the vehicle
near wiring harness ends within reach of ground ring on white wir
Remove any debris or undercoating to expose a clean metal surface
and drill a 3/32” hole.
Caution: Take care not to drill through the body or any exposed
surface.
Secure ring on white wire using ground screw provided.
6b.
Using an 8mm socket remove the factory ground bolt shown
in
Figure 6
. Place ground ring on T-Connector with factory ground
ring and re-attach factory ground bolt.
7.
Route T-Connector ends containing
Green
wire and 4-Flat
down through opening behind driver’s side side panel. Route across
rear of vehicle under location of removed threshold to passenger
side. Repeat Step 5 for connector plugging.
8.
Disconnect the vehicle's Negative(-) battery cable.

Abrir puerta trasera. Retire la unidad y del lado del
pasajero luces traseras mediante la eliminación de dos
tornillos de 8 mm que contienen cada uno en lugar que se
muestra en la Figura 1. Identificar los conectores de la luz
trasera del vehículo. Serán similares a los de la T-Connector
Separado conectores del vehículo teniendo cuidado de no
dañar el bloqueo fichas. Inspeccione los conectores de la
suciedad y los escombros y limpiar si necesario.

Desbancar arandela de goma en ambos lados se
muestra en la Figura 2. El uso de un cuchillo hacer una
pequeña incisión en ojal del centro al aire libre, lejos del
mazo de cables de fábrica, teniendo cuidado de no
dañar los cables.

11 On the other end of the fuseholder strip 5/16" of the
insulation and crimp the yellow butt connector provided and
attach it to the 12 gauge black wire.
12. With the fuse
removed,
attach the 3/8" ring terminal to
the vehicles po) battery terminal shown in
Figure 8
.
Warning: Do not attempt to connect the black power wire
to the vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory wiring.
Failure to connect directly to the vehicle battery could
cause vehicle damage and/or trailer lighting failure.
13. At rear of the vehicle, strip 5/16" of insulation from the
black 12 gauge wire and connect it to the butt connector on
the red wire on the taillight converter.
14. Reattach the vehicle Negative(-) battery wire.
15. Place the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder installed in
Step 10.
16.
Confirm correct operation with a test light or by using a
trailer.
17.
Secure the T-Connector black converter box using the
double-sided tape and/or the 15” cable tie provided. Secure
the remainder of the T-Connectors wires with remaining cable
ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
18.
Re-install all previously removed parts from
the preceeding steps.

9.
Route the 12 gauge black wire from the battery
compartment under the vehicle along the frame shown in
Figure 7
. Secure wire to vehicle using cable ties provided.
10.
Cut the Yellow inline fuseholder and strip 5/16" of the
insulation from one end attach the 3/8" ring terminal
