Initiation
Stroke Rate Preselection
The stroke rate of the saw blade is variable and can be adjusted with a rotating
wheel (6) on the back of the unit. The required stroke rate of the saw blade
depends on the material and the saw blade used. You should find it out by
testing in practice.
Adjustment of Pendulum
The pendulum is adjusted with the switch (2) located slant below the On/Off
switch. The pendulum gives the saw blade a horizontal pendulousness. The
smallest pendulum is at level
I
and the biggest at level
IV
. When moving
downwards, the saw blade is pushed backwards to ease the throw-off of the
splints. Because of this the cutting speed for longitudinal sections rises and
less power is needed while sawing. Furthermore, the lifetime of a saw blade is
increased. The pendulum can only be used for wood or similar materials and
not for metallic materials.
Note: Because of the additional vertical movement, the cutting edges will be
torn out more as if working without pendulum. The surface coatings of wood
plate especially tend to fray because of their refractory structure when working
with additional pendulum.
The Bevel Cut
You can make bevel cuts to 45° with this saw if you angle the base plate. First,
remove the plastic cap as described on Page
2. Loosen the socket screw with the 4 mm
hexagonal wrench delivered (see picture) to
adjust the base plate. After loosening, push
the base plate slightly forward until the screw
is no longer in the slot. Now you can adjust
the base plate to the angle desired and you
can fix it in that position by tightening the socket screw.
