move faster than usual. If the hands move at a correct relative speed and
direction, the gear train works correctly.
3. Testing Button Cells
Place the button cell between the contact terminals of the tester with the
plus side down and turn the unit on with the switch (1) and press the upper
contact terminal of the tester down. If the button cell is intact, the
indicator light (6) will light up.
4. Testing the Quartz
Plug the Quartz into the socket (7) and turn the unit on with the switch (1). Set
the switch 8 to the upper position. If the Quartz functions correctly, the
indicator light (5) lights up and the acoustic pulse indicator can be heard.
