1. Separating the earth wire from the battery
The earth wire must be separated from the battery before the work begins to prevent short circuits
during assembly and for safety reasons (fire risk)!!!
2. Assembling the line set and the power outlet socket
Remove the luggage compartment floor cover. Disassemble the tail plate covering, also those of the right
and left tail light, loosen left side panel covering (in Estate version also right). Remove the cover of the
vehicle's individual leadthrough in the centre of the tail plate.
Move the cable end from the boot to the outside through the vehicle's leadthrough and then further towards
the power socket retaining plate, adjust the cable length to the socket.
Line set and ready-made socket:
Seal the vehicle leadthrough with the leadthrough bushing pulled over it.
The power socket holder is ready-made. Press the contact holder into the socket housing and slide the
rubber sealing onto the socket.
Affix the socket on the retaining plate with the screws and nuts provided.
Line set with screwed socket:
Pull leadthrough bushing and socket sealing onto the wire lane.
Seal the vehicle leadthrough with the leadthrough bushing pulled over it.
Connect socket according to wiring plan, slide rubber sealing onto the socket.
Affix the socket on the retaining plate with the provided screws and nuts.
Caution!!
The following points are especially to be noted when assembling the socket:
- The leads may not become caught, squeezed or damaged!
- The seals must be fitted properly! Socket sealing should be on the insulating hose, and not on the
individual leads!
- Lay the line set so there is no risk of abrasion or wear!
- Do not lay close to the exhaust system!
Lay the line set end with the connector 6-fold and 12-fold along the tail plate to the left tail light. Pull out the
plug from the tail light and connect up with that of the line set and secure. Plug counterpart back into the tail
light and secure.
Proceed the same way with the 6-fold housing on the right tail light.
Lay and connect the cable socket of the earth wires brown, respectively brown/white along the original
cable bundle to the vehicle's earthing point above left.
Assembly / Continuous power supply of the control unit :
Affix the control unit to the left side wall with Velcro tape.
Plug the 12-pin line set plug onto the control unit.
For Fabia Saloon:
Connect the continuous power supply lead to the luggage compartment lighting. To do this, disconnect the
plug from the light and insert into the appropriate counterpart with the short adapter cable. Insert the remaining
connection back into the light. Affix the fuse holder onto suitable place.
For the Fabia Estate:
Lay the continuous power supply lead to the right side and connect to the socket with the long adapter
cable. Affix the fuse holder in the area of the right tail light.
Insert the flat plug into the fuse holder and install yellow clip, install fuse and put cover on.
