Firewall
– Set up a firewall for this router to block specific incoming or outgoing traffic by the
IP address and/or ports.
DMZ
– Set up a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) to allow computers behind the router firewall to
be accessible to Internet traffic. Typically, your DMZ would contain Web servers and FTP
servers.
You can set up a single computer on your network outside of the router. If you have a
computer that cannot run Internet applications successfully from behind the router, you can
place the computer into the DMZ for unrestricted Internet access. Because of security
concerns, use this option only as a last resort.
MAC Filter
– Control network access based on the MAC address of the client device.
The
MAC address is a unique ID assigned by the manufacturer.
Parental Controls
– Control Internet access to specific websites and access periods. See
“Setting Up Parental Controls” on page 41.
