must be placed on a flat surface strong
enough to bear its weight (consult your workman). Fill
the tub through the filter intake and make sure that all
the jets are open – the water should maintain drinking
water quality – and connect the power. If you fill it up
from your own well or with fresh water, it will be much
more difficult to maintain the chemical balance of the
water.

Measure the TDS of the water with test strips and
make a note of the value.

Shock chlorinate with six SunWac 12 tablets.

Add 50 ml No Scale.

Measure the alkalinity with test strips; adjust as
required.

Measure the pH value with test strips; adjust as
required.

When all of the above has been done and the tem-
perature is correct, simply jump in and enjoy!
Even if the spa is not used every week, you should
check the water quality at least once a week.
A neglected tub often leads to big problems and lots of
work to bring it back to its best.
The water in the spa should be changed 3–4 times
a year even if it’s managed properly as eventually it
saturates and cannot cope with any more chemical
treatment.

For the chemicals in the water to do their job prop-
erly you need the correct pH balance, 7.0–7.4.

To maintain the correct pH balance, the water has
to have the correct alkalinity.

Since most factors affect each other in the water,
each factor is equally important when it comes to
achieving a good result.

The most common cause of contaminants in the
water is people not showering before they get in.

Remember that this is a bathing system, not a
launderette.
