Secure Cabinets to Back Wall
Because materials and construction of walls can vary, fasteners for attaching the cabinets to the structure
are not provided. The installer must choose the appropriate fastener and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
See "Cabinet Fastener Guidelines" on page 4 for more information.
Note:
At least every 5th cabinet must be
secured to the back wall.

Make sure all the cabinets are
secured together before attaching
them to the back wall.

Cabinets as far away as 2" (51 mm)

The brackets have extra holes for
the best fit on the top of the cabinet.
For taller cabinets, secure the
bracket to the cabinet using
#8 x 5/8" pan head screws

For shorter cabinets that will have
a work surface top installed, secure
the bracket to the cabinet using
#7 x 5/8" flat head screws

2. Instead of using the bracket,
holes may be drilled through both the
back panel and top rear stretcher
2" to 3" (51 to 76 mm) down from
the top of the inside.
3. Attach the wall bracket or
cabinet back to the wall surface.

In addition to the sides of the cabinets being secured, the
cabinet backs must also be attached to either a back wall,
to adjacent cabinets in an island formation or to the floor.

Inferior or improperly installed
fasteners could cause the
cabinets to tip over.

Cabinets must either be secured to a back wall or back-to-back with adjacent cabinets.
