Navigation Buttons
Up navigation button:
Highlights the previous
option in the Display
window or increases
numeric values.
Right navigation
button
:
Highlights the Settings tab
in the Display window or
highlights options to the
right.
Down navigation
button:
Highlights the next option
in the Display window or
decreases numeric values.
Left navigation button:
Highlights the Review tab
in the Display window or
highlights options to the
left.
D. Initial Start Up
1.
When using the ProBP the first time, you must program an initial configuration screen.
Once this is done, you will not be prompted to configure this again.

Use the Navigation
and Select buttons
to select options and accept entries.

E. Powering Up Device
1. Press the Power-On button
2. The display lights up and the device performs an internal self-check.
3. Standby
Mode:
a. When the device is powered on and left unused for 2 minutes it will go into Standby Mode. This
saves battery power and the display screen will turn blank.
b. Press any button to bring the device out of Standby Mode.
4. When running off battery power, the ProBP 3400 will automatically power off when not used for 30
minutes. When the device is connected to external power, the device will automatically power off after
3 hours of non-use.
F. Blood Pressure (to be used on patients greater than 3 years of age ONLY)
1. Before taking a BP measurement, always perform the following steps:
a. Select appropriate cuff. The cuff is the appropriate size when the artery index marker lies
somewhere between the range markings on the BP cuff.
b. Position the cuff. The cuff should always be positioned on a bare arm (or alternate site as
necessary), preferably 1-2 cm above
the elbow, with the artery index marker over the brachial
artery. It should fit comfortably to allow no more than 1 to 2 fingers of space between the cuff and
the arm. During the BP measurement cycle, the patient should not move the extremity and should
remain quiet.
