9.2.4 Removing and refitting magnesium anode
Observe notes on servicing [ch. 9.2.1].
Corrosion protection requires an anode current greater than 1 mA with a minimum
water conductivity of 100 µS/cm (25 °C).
Measure anode current.
If the anode current is below 1 mA with the stipulated minimum conductivity, the
magnesium anode must be removed and tested.
Removing
Remove inspection flange [ch. 9.2.3].
If the diameter over half the anode length less than 15 mm:
Replace magnesium anode.
A shorter maintenance interval is required, if wear of the magnesium anode is no-
ticeably rapid.
Refitting
Refit magnesium anode in in reverse order, and:
fit new seals

and ensure sealing surfaces are clean,
connect anode cable

,
tighten screws with a torque of 8 Nm.
Fit inspection flange [ch. 9.2.3].
CAUTION
Corrosion due to missing anode cable
If the electrical connection of the anode to the steel wall is missing, no protective
layer is formed. A missing protective layer can lead to corrosions.
Connect anode cable.
Anode is connected to fresh water storage tank.
