Introducing Switch Tools
Switch Status Window
If communication to the EOTec 2104 Ethernet Ring Switch is good, a
Communications
OK
indicator appears in the lower-right corner of the window, and a
Polling
indication
flashes approximately every three seconds. If communication is broken between this
switch and the computer, the
Communications OK
message changes to
Communications
.
The top of the Switch Status window has three indicators:
Switch name
This is the name of the switch.
MAC Address
This is the MAC address of the switch, as indicated on the switch
’
s
label.
Using interface
This is the name of your computer
’
s Ethernet interface card.
The middle part of the window displays the status of all the ports on this ring switch.
Each port has four status categories:

Status
•
Speed
•
Duplex
•
Flow Control (Flow Ctrl).
