Allnewutility andlawnandgardenequipment
engines must be designed, built, and
equipped to meet the stringent anti--smog
standards.
POULAN/WEED EATER
must
warranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyour
lawnandgardenequipmentengineforthepe-
riods of time listed below provided therehas
beennoabuse, neglect,or impropermainte-
nanceofyourlawnandgardenequipmenten-
gine.Your emissioncontrol systemincludes
parts such as the carburetorand theignition
system.Whereawarrantableconditionexits,

willrepairyourlawn
and garden equipment engine at no cost to
you. Expenses covered under warranty in-
cludediagnosis,partsandlabor.
MANUFAC-
TURER’SWARRANTYCOVERAGE:
Ifany
emissions related part on your engine (as
listed under Emissions Control Warranty
Parts List)is defectiveoradefectinthemate-
rialsorworkmanshipoftheenginecausesthe
failure of such an emission related part, the
partwillberepairedorreplacedby
POULAN/
WEED EATER.
OWNER’S WARRANTY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawn and gar-
den equipment engine owner, you are re-
sponsiblefortheperformanceoftherequired
maintenance listed inyour Owner’s Manual.
POULAN/WEED EATER
recommends that
youretainallreceipts coveringmaintenance
on your lawn and garden equipmentengine,
but
POULAN/WEED EATER
cannot deny
warranty solely for the lack ofreceipts orfor
your failure to ensure the performance of all
scheduled maintenance. As the lawn and
gardenequipmentengineowner, youshould
be aware that
POULAN/WEED EATER
may
deny youwarranty coverageifyourlawnand
garden equipment engine or a part of it has
failedduetoabuse,neglect,impropermainte-
nance,unapprovedmodifications,ortheuse
ofparts not madeor approvedby theoriginal
equipmentmanufacturer. You areresponsi-
ble for presenting your lawn and garden
equipmentenginetoa
POULAN/WEEDEAT-
ER
authorized repair center as soon as a
problem exists. Warranty repairs should be
completed in a reasonable amount of time,
nottoexceed30days. Ifyouhave any ques-
tions regarding your warranty rights andre-

WARRANTY COM-
MENCEMENT DATE:
The warranty period
begins onthedatethelawnandgardenequip-
ment engine is purchased.
LENGTH OF
COVERAGE:
This warrantyshallbeforape-
riod of two years from the initial date of pur-
chase.
WHAT IS COVERED: REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF PARTS.
Repair or re-
placement of any warranted part will beper-
formed at no charge to the owner at an ap-
proved

WARRANTY PERIOD:
Anywarrantedpartwhichisnotscheduledfor
replacement as required maintenance, or
whichisscheduledonlyforregularinspection
to the effect of “repair or replace as neces-
sary”shallbewarrantedfor2years.Anywar-
ranted part which is scheduled for replace-
ment as required maintenance shall be
warranted for theperiod oftime upto thefirst
scheduled replacement point for that part.
DIAGNOSIS:
The owner shall not be
charged for diagnostic labor which leads to
thedeterminationthatawarrantedpart is de-
fective if the diagnostic work is performedat
anapproved

serv-
icing center.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAM-
AGES:
POULAN/WEED EATER
may be li-
able for damages to other engine
components caused by the failure of a war-
ranted part still under warranty.
WHAT IS
NOT COVERED
: All failures caused by
abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceare
not covered.
ADD--ON OR MODIFIED
PARTS:
Theuseofadd--onormodifiedparts
canbegroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaim.

is notliabletocover
failures ofwarrantedparts causedby theuse
ofadd--onormodifiedparts.
