GETTING STARTED

m

DANGER: Do not store a spare LP tank under or
near this grill. Never fill the tank beyond 80%
full. Failure to follow these statements exactly
may result in a fire causing death or serious
injury.

m

WARNING: Make sure the shut-off valve on the
LP port of the RV is closed while connecting or
disconnecting the LP gas hose.

m

WARNING: Do not use a wrench to tighten the
connection. Using a wrench could damage the
regulator coupling and could cause a leak.

m

CAUTION: Use cylinders that are marked
"Propane" only.

Important Information about

LP Gas & Gas Connections

What Is LP Gas?

Liquefied petroleum gas, also called LP, LP gas, liquid
propane, or simply propane or butane, is the flammable,
petroleum-based product used to fuel your grill. It is
a gas at moderate temperatures and pressure when
it is not contained. But at moderate pressure inside a
container, such as a tank, LP is a liquid. As pressure is
released from the tank, the liquid readily vaporizes and
becomes gas.

What is a Regulator?

Your WEBER gas grill is designed for use with a low
pressure regulator, which is a device to control and
maintain uniform gas pressure as gas is released from
the LP tank.

LP Port on The Recreational Vehicle (RV)

Your RV's LP gas system is equipped with a low pressure
regulator that is designed for vapor withdrawal, as
described in the latest edition of ANSI Z21.58. THE
LP SYSTEM MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A COMPATIBLE
TYPE II QUICK-CONNECT LP PORT TO CONNECT THE
GRILL. This Type II connection allows you to make a fast
and safe hookup between your WEBER gas grill and the
RV's LP gas system.

NOTE: Gas will not flow from the gas supply unless the
Type II coupling is fully engaged.

• The WEBER gas grill is for use with a gas appliance

pressure regulator equipped gas supply, with the
regulator set for 11 inches of water column pressure.

• Replacement gas hose assemblies must be those

specified by Weber-Stephen Products LLC.

• The gas hose connector must comply with the high

pressure requirements of the Standards for Pigtails
and Flexible Hose Connectors for LP Gas, ANSI/UL 569.
The gas connections supplied with your WEBER gas
appliance have been designed and tested to meet 100%
of CSA and ANSI requirements.

• Position the gas grill on the opposite side from the fuel

distribution system of the RV.

Fueling Your Grill

Before using your grill for the first time, you need to
connect the LP gas hose from the grill to the LP port on
the RV.

Connecting the LP Gas Hose

Use the Type II quick-connect LP gas hose included with
the grill to make the gas connection.

1)  Make sure the gas source is turned off.
2)  Make sure burner control knob is turned off by

pushing it in and turning it clockwise to the off ( )
position.

3)  Locate the quick-connect fitting on the burner vavle

beneath the side table

(A)

. Pull back the collar of

the quick-connect and push the hose onto the valve
fitting of the grill. Make sure the collar secures the
connection.

4)  Connect the male end of the LP gas hose to the low

pressure LP port on the RV

(B)

. Pull back the collar of

the quick-connect and insert the LP gas hose. Make
sure the collar secures the connection.

Routing the LP Gas Hose

While using the LP gas hose, use care to route the gas
hose away from the cookbox and other hot surfaces

(C)

.

Disconnecting the LP Gas Hose

When you need to disconnect the LP gas hose, follow
these instructions to remove it.

1)  Make sure burner control knob is turned off by

pushing it in and turning it clockwise to the off ( )
position.

2)  Make sure the gas source is turned off.
3)  Pull the collar back on the end of the quick-connect

and pull the hose from the fitting.

Storage and/or Travel

Disconnect the LP gas hose if: 1) the grill is being
transported; 2) the grill is being stored in a garage or
other enclosed area; 3) the grill is not in use.

• Do not store a disconnected LP cylinder in a building,

garage, or any other enclosed area.

• Do not store or transport a disconnected LP cylinder

inside the grill.

For grills that have been stored or left unused for a while,
it is important to follow these guidelines:

• The WEBER gas grill should be checked for gas leaks

and any obstructions in the burner tube before it
is used. (Refer to “CHECKING FOR GAS LEAKS” and
“ANNUAL MAINTENANCE.”)

• Check that the areas under the cookbox and the

removable catch pan are free from debris that might
obstruct the flow of combustion or ventilation air.

• The spider/insect screen should also be checked for any

obstructions. (Refer to “ANNUAL MAINTENANCE.”)
