CHAPTER 8

Using the HPSA-7100-R

The HPSA-7100-R allows trained service personnel to monitor and activate tones and live
test messages locally from the unit as well as configure settings and gather diagnostic data.
This chapter describes the steps trained service personnel are expected to understand and
implement for utilization of the HPSA-7100-R, monitoring the unit, responding to alerts,
configuring settings from the Control Panel and gathering diagnostic data.

8.1

WORKING WITH THE HPSA-7100-R

The HPSA-7100-R provides the capability to broadcast tones directly from the HPSA-
7100-R for setup and testing. The sections below describe how to access stored tones.

8.1.1

Using the Communications Panels

For instructions on using the communications panels, refer to Chapter 7, Section 7.3.1,
Using the Communications Panels for detailed descriptions.

8.1.2

Adjusting the HPSA-7100-R Master Volume

The HPSA-7100-R’s Master Volume can be lowered temporarily for testing purposes
only. If the volume is set too low, the Amp Fault Trouble LED illuminates. Ensure the
Master Volume is set to its original setting when testing has completed.

1. From the HPSA-7100-R’s

Control Panel,

press the down arrow, select

Adjust

Volume

and then press

ENTER

. The LCD screen changes to

Master Volume

.

2. Perform the following until the volume is set as desired:

The Master volume can be set to between 0 and 1023, which is the factory-
set value of the Master Limit (MstrLim).
