STEP 6
(Refer to Table 3 and 4)
Install all the small capacitors first. Refer to Tables 3 and 4 and follow the same procedure as used for
the resistors in step 3. Also be careful to pay attention to the correct installation of the 10 uF electrolytic
capacitors since they have a polarity that you must adhere to. See photos below for details on their
correct installation.
Note:
one of the 47 pF capacitors will be installed under the board in parallel with
trimmer C35. Also there are 2 x 10 pf caps and a 47 pf cap that do not have designated spots on the top
of the board and need special attention. The 3 capacitors are all close to each other and are very close to
Q4B. You will need to scrape a bit of the green coating off the board with a sharp knife to install one of
the 10 pF caps. See photos below for details on where to scrape the board. Also refer to the photos for
the correct installation of the other 10 pf cap which shares a through-hole with
C49
a 47pf cap. It is a
good idea to insert these 2 caps together before soldering. Finally refer to the photos below to see
where to install the other 47 pF capacitor which does not have designated screen printing on the board.
