SALT SETTING
Refer to the tables on the previous page to determine the
correct setting for the size system you are installing. This
setting may be different from ordinary softening systems, so
please check the numbers.
VALVE ASSEMBLY
The Triton control valve comes with a noryl plastic bypass valve
which simplifies installation and is convenient to use should
the system need to be serviced in the future. Inlet and Outlet
connections are 3/4" or
1" pipe size.
PLACEMENT OF THE
REIONATOR PRO ULTRA
™
WATER SYSTEM
Install the Reionator Pro Ultra
™
system into the existing cold water
supply line before the water heater and before any cold water outlet that
requires treatment. When selecting a location for the system, please keep
the following things in mind:
1. Choose a location that requires the least amount of piping. While this
is important from a cost standpoint, it is more important that the distance
between the Reionator Pro Ultra
™
and the drain be as close as possible.
2. An approved 115/120 volt 60-cycle grounded receptacle should be
within reach of the 15 ft. transformer power pack.
3. Since salt or potassium chloride must be periodically added to the brine
tank, the location should be easily accessible.
4. All systems are designed to be installed in an inside and weather-
protected location. However, in a few states where climate conditions
allow, systems may be installed outside. If the system is installed outside,
it must be sheltered from rain and direct sunlight.
IMPORTANT:
Damage to the
Reionator Pro Ultra
™
as a result of
exposure to the elements without the use of a weather cover will not be
covered under the limited lifetime warranty.
5. In some situations supplementary water treatment may be required
(sediment filter, iron removal, etc.). Make certain that adequate space is
available.
6. Outside faucets should be on the untreated hard water line in front of
the Reionator Pro Ultra
™
system. Conditioned water is not needed for lawn
or garden watering. (The hose bib closest to the garage may have treated
water for washing cars.)
7. Do not locate the system where it or its connections (including the drain
and overflow lines) will ever be subjected to temperatures under 40° F
(4.4°C) or over 110°F (43.3°C).
8. Select a location where the floor is level. If the floor is rough or uneven,
level it by placing the resin tank on 3/4" exterior plywood. Cut 1" larger on
all sides and then shim to level as needed.
9. Do not install any system close to a hot water heater with less than
a total run of 12 ft. of piping between the outlet of the Reionator Pro
Ultra
™
system and the inlet to the heater. Water heaters can sometimes
overheat to the extent they will transmit heat back down the cold water
pipe into the Reionator Pro Ultra
™
control valve. Hot water will severely
damage this equipment. (
See plumbing connection diagram Fig. 5, Page 5
).
Elbows, bends and straight pipe totalling 12 ft. will meet this requirement.
If necessary to place closer, install an approved check valve between the
discharge on the Reionator Pro Ultra
™
and the inlet of the water heater.
