Correction of white blemish by
⑮
WHITE BLEMISH CORRECTION
BUTTON. The WAT-232S is manufactured using high-grade CCD devices
that are selected by tough standards by the manufacturer. However, it is
impossible to prevent the white blemishes from occurring after shipment
because the white blemish phenomena can be caused by cosmic rays. The
WAT-232S has a white blemish correction circuit to help control the white
blemish phenomena. Correct according to the following procedures, if white
blemishes are present.
[PROCEDURE]
1. Completely cover the lens to prevent light entering.
2. Press the
⑮
WHITE BLEMISH CORRECTION BUTTON using a fine
stick.
3. After 5 seconds, the white blemishes are automatically detected, and
then recorded to the camera.
※
Make sure that the lens is completely shielded from light before correction
of the white blemishes. If the lens is not covered properly and light can
enter into the lens on to the CCD face, the correction of the white blemish
may not be detected correctly.

Day/Night
WAT-232S has a day/night function that can change the day mode and night
mode by switching the IR-cut filter.
1) AUTO mode
In AUTO mode, DAY/NIGHT mode is automatically selected according to the
ambient luminance.
In DAY mode, when the ambient luminance becomes dark
(the gain value of the AGC exceeds the set value), the camera becomes NIGHT
mode automatically. On the other hand, when the ambient luminance becomes
bright (the gain value of the AGC becomes less than the set value), DAY mode is
automatically selected. “Hunting (=continuous switching operation of day mode
and night mode)” does not occur easily because the gain value of the AGC at the
time of switching from day mode to night mode (A) is higher than the gain value
of the AGC at the time of switching from night mode to day mode (B).
The Day/Night switching point of the camera can be selected by
⑬
FUNCTION
SWITCHES (2. D/N changing level selection switch). When sensitivity is more
important than the color image, set to LO(=OFF). When the color image is
preferred to a monochrome image, set to HI(=ON).
2) EXT mode
In EXT mode, DAY/NIGHT mode can change arbitrarily. The IR-cut filter can be
disabled (=night mode) by an applied voltage of 3 to 12V between the terminals
1 and 2 (current value: 0.7mA at 3V and 4.5mA at 12V). See the pin configuration
as follows.

If a light sensor is used with this mode as the diagram indicated below, please
use the light sensor applied output voltage range from 3 to 12V (current value:
0.7mA at 3V and 4.5mA at 12V). Please make sure the electrical polarity is
correct when connecting the cables.
