Status Polling Commands (RS-232)

<ESC>!?

Description

This command is used to obtain the printer status. An inquiry request is solicited by
sending an <ESC> (ASCII 27, escape character) as the beginning control character
to the printer. It can be sent any time, even in the event of printer error. One byte
character is returned, of which one bit is used to flag the printer’s current readiness
status. If 0 is returned, the printer is ready to print labels.
