The display area

is used for the visual display of the echo and sensor data. The ap-
pearance of the display area depends on the number of active channels. If only one chan-
nel is active, the whole width is used to display the echo for this channel (Fig.

6.15).

If two channels are active (optional), the display area is split and the echoes of both chan-
nels are displayed alongside one another (Fig.
 6.16).

On systems with two channels, the active channels can be selected in the menu under
MAIN MENU > SETTINGS > Active Channel (  6.5.5.5 "Selecting the Active
Channels").
On systems with only one channel, the corresponding menu item is not displayed.
