III.  250 EX Installation

1.

Begin by removing the top two bumper mounting
bolts.  Retain these two bolts, they will be needed
when attaching the back of the mounting plate to
the ATV frame.

2.

Place the mounting plate (A1) into position on the
ATV as shown in figure 1.

3.

Attach the front of the mounting plate (A1) with
the two 5/16-18 X 3/4 hex bolts (B2), flat washers
(B3), and locking  5/16-18 hex nuts (B1), refer to
figure 1. Thighten the u-bolts to a recommended
torque of 12 ft-lbs (17 N-m)

4.

Attach the rear of the mounting plate with the two
hex bolts that were removed in step 1. Tighten the
bolts to a recommended torque of 10-12 ft-lb
(16 N-m).

5.

Attach either the cast-iron hawse or roller fairlead
(depending on your winch kit) to the fairlead
support tabs on the front of the mounting plate
(A1)

6.

Place the winch into position as shown in figure 1.
Attach the winch using the four 5/16-18 x 3/4 hex
bolts that came in the mounting kit, the locking
nuts that will be used were supplied with the
winch package.Tighten the bolts to recommended
torque of 12 ft-lb (17 N-m).

Winch and winch mount installation is now
complete  section V, entitled “Maintenance/Care”.

WARNING

Tighten all nuts and bolts securely.  Failure to
check all nuts and bolts prior to use can result
in product failure which can lead to vehicle
damage and operator injury or death.

5/16-18 x 3/4 bolst

IV.  Maintenance/Care

Inspect all metal parts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware.  Replace all that appears
rusted or deformed prior to use.

Inspect all nuts and bolts on the winch, winch mount,
and related hardware prior to each use.  Tighten all
nuts and bolts that appear to be loose.  Stripped,
fractured, or bent bolts or nuts need to be replaced

maintenance on the winch, winch mount, and
related hardware may result in vehicle
damage and operator injury or death.
