Accessories
A wide range of control devices is available for our sun
shading control systems to give you optimum control of
the product.
Do
not
use the external venetian blinds in icy or frosty
weather. The external venetian blinds must be cleared of
ice and snow before they can be used. Liability cannot be
accepted for damage to the sun shading system resulting
from the operation under icy conditions. We
recommend
using an ice monitoring system.
2.3
Intended use
Metal system venetian blinds are sun shading systems
that may only be employed for their intended use to
provide privacy and protect against summer heat and
glare. Inappropriate use may result in significant danger.
The metal system venetian blinds are raised and lowered
by a lifting system in the guide rails. A special design
makes it difficult to push up the bottom rail. If the blind is
blocked, the bottom rail remains in its position at that
time. To unblock the blind, raise the external venetian
blind slightly until the bottom rail is in a horizontal position
again. Then unblock the blind. As a rule, the bottom rail
must not be pushed up manually while the blind is
moving, especially while it is being raised, since other-
wise the push-up guard stops the blind from moving up,
possibly resulting in damage to the lifting system.
All venetian blinds for external use are designed for a
wind load of 1.1 kN/m² (DIN 1055). The directive entitled
"Wind loads for construction of closures and awnings
when retracted – Section 5.1.1"
1
defines the positions at
which these products can be installed without requiring
special precautions.
Do not place additional strain, such as that from sus-
pended objects, on external venetian blinds as this may
damage the product or cause it to detach from the wall
(such as due to tearing of the steel wire cord with
connectors) and is therefore not permitted.
The intended use also includes observing these instruc-
tions and the care and maintenance conditions.
