Lubrication
5.5.1
General
Check all grease zerks for damage and function. Defective grease zerks must be replaced.
If grease cannot be charged even if a new grease nipple is fitted, the bearing must be
removed. Contact service provider.
5.5.2
Interval
At a minimum, lubrication must be done every 3 months. More frequent intervals may be
necessary when driving in aggressive surroundings or the lift is washed often. Contact
Waltco for advice.
5.5.3
Before lubrication
Before lubricating, clean the lift, especially the lubrication points and grease zerks.
5.5.4
Correct design
Lubrication must be carried out such that a ring of grease is visible on both sides of the
bearings to protect against the intrusion of water, salt, sand and dirt. See illustration below.
