“TÜV” registration icon TÜV (Technischer Überwachungsverein) Rhein-

as a testing laboratory for functional safety.
“FS” registration icon Conformity marks with the keyword “Functional
safety” are issued for electrical / electronic / pro-
grammable electronic and electromechanical prod-
ucts that are intended for use in safety-related ap-
plications. A type test for these products has
shown that they are sufficiently safe and reliable
according to a defined safety level and are suitable
for use in safety functions to protect people, the
environment and valuable goods.
