Note:
The flow rate can be changed by:
– changing the product pressure or
– Using a different flat jet nozzle (see Chapter
7.2.4 and Chapter 13 ).
7.2.2 ADJUSTING THE SPRAY PATTERN
The spray pattern can be adjusted to suit the
object being sprayed using the shaping air
regulator. The illustration shows the influence of
the shaping air regulator on the spray pattern.
Other nozzle sizes can be mainly used to obtain
larger or smaller spray patterns.

7.2.3 PRESSURE RELIEF/WORK INTERRUPTION
The pressure must always be relieved:
– when the spraying tasks are finished,
– before carrying out maintenance work on the spraying system,
– before carrying out cleaning tasks on the spraying system,
– before moving the spraying system to another location,
– if something must be checked on the spraying system,
– if the nozzle or the filter is removed from the spray gun.
The components for pressure relief on a CE-compliant spray system include:
– Air cock with pressure relief hole mounted between compressed air source and pneumatic pump.
– Product pressure relief valve mounted between pump and spray gun.
