Fault
Possible cause
Remedy
Engine does not start.
Fuel cock is closed.
Set throttle lever to idle.
Fuel tank is empty.
Refill with fuel.
Fuel filter is soiled.
Change filter.
Soiled air filter.
Clean filter, replace if necessary.
Choke lever is deactivated.
Set throttle lever to idle and activate
choke.
Purger not pressed.
Press purger repeatedly.
Spark plug is defective.
Replace spark plug.
Spark plug soiled or wet.
Clean spark plug, replace if neces-
sary.
The electrode gap of the spark plug
is set incorrectly.
Adjust the electrode gap.
Engine runs, but machine does not
ram.
Centrifugal clutch is defective.
Replace the centrifugal clutch.*
Idling speed too high or too low.
Idling speed adjusting screw incor-
rectly positioned.
Correct screw position.
Engine power too low.
The air filter is soiled.
Clean filter, replace if necessary.
Fuel filter is soiled.
Change filter.
Machines with oil injection
Engine starts and stops after ap-
prox. 30 seconds.
Not enough oil in oil tank.
Refill with oil.
Cable connection on engine loose
or slack.
Check connection and correct if ne-
cessary.
Oil sensor in oil tank defective.
Replace oil sensor.*
