The PowerVat top part
[3]
including the rubber O-ring
[7]
must be positioned on
the PowerVat bottom part
[1]
, film
[6]
and clamping plate
[2]
as shown above.
Now insert the 8 countersunk screws M4x20
[9]
and M4x16
[10]
and tighten them
by using the supplied Torx wrench TX20. While the 8 screws are being tightened,
the film is gets stretched. The left figure shows the recommended sequence for
tightening the screws (red numbers):
a)
Slightly tighten the screws crosswise (see picture for order)
b)
In analogy to a), tighten with the nominal tightening torque
Important:
When mounting the parts, take care of the screw lengths: The
screws in the corners
[10]
have a length of 16
mm; the screws on the long
sides
[9]
have a length of 20
mm.
Important:
Unless the screws are tightened crosswise, asymmetric stress
states might occur in the film, possibly causing poorer printing results.
Finally, the fully assembled PowerVat has to be cleaned. Use paper towels soaked
in isopropanol to remove fingerprints, streaks, etc. on the film or on the glass
surface.
When using different 3D printing materials alternately, residues may occur
between the top part and the film (near the rubber O-ring). Therefore, the top part
must be dismounted and cleaned to avoid cross-contamination when changing
materials. Before using a new material, follow these steps:
1.
[Step A] Removing the Top Part (follow cleaning instructions)
2.
[Step F] Assembling the Top Part
The film is a wearing part and must be replaced when damage or heavy wear
occurs (see next section). New films can be obtained from your reseller. Proper
