Installation notes
FEZ336 heaters may be installed singularly, via a suitably rated isolating switch, preferably with a visual indicator.
However they are normally installed several at a time, in which case they are controlled via a contactor, as in the diagram above.
The cabling, contactor and isolator must be rated to carry the full current of all the heaters
The contactor can be controlled by a manual switch, thermostat, time switch, etc.
Compact enclosed isolators should be derated to allow for the effects of self heating.
FEZ336 heaters are a resistive load with low inrush currents. However to prevent nuisance tripping use type C MCB's.
Where RCD (Residual Current Devices) are used, seperate the heaters over several circuits to prevent nuisance tripping.
