Towing hook
For towed machines, there is an option of fitting a towing hook to the rear of the ma-
chine. This can be used if required for a trailer with seed bags.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Visual inspection
Check the chain tension of as well the chain transmission of the drive wheel to the transmission as of the
dispenser-shaft to the agitator-shaft. If necessary adjust.
In towed machines, frequently check:
•
Tyre pressures (minimum 1,0bar);
•
Damage to hydraulic hoses;
•
Cracking or breakage to drawbar link eye.
ATTENTION!
•
Ensure that the seed tubes and springs are dry at the inside, if necessary dry them with a jet of
compressed air;
•
Make a regular check of the seed tubes for blockages;
•
Make a regular check to ensure that the seed shaft (photo 4 no. 4) rotates easily by hand when the
seed hopper is empty.
If the machine is stored for a long period, carry out the following procedure:
1.
Clean out the seed hopper completely;
Check the fluted cam wheels for correct operation;
Check and if necessary clean out the seed tubes.
2.
Clean off the discs;
Check condition of discs and remove on any burrs with a file;
Oil discs with a preservative fluid.
3.
Empty the packer roller of water ballast to prevent damage in case of freezing weather;
Clean the exterior of the machine and coat in a preservative fluid.
4.
Store the machine in a dry place.
5.
Before using the machine at the beginning of the season, turn the seed shafts (photo 4 nr. 4) a few
times using a spanner.
ATTENTION! Turn the frontshaft clockwise and the backshaft counterclockwise as you view it from the
“variator” drive end.
After a few rotations it should be possible to turn it by hand. If not, check the agitator shaft in the seed
hopper. When necessary clean out the fluted camwheels.
The seed shaft must be rotated by hand to preve
nt damage to the “variator”.

The roller scraper should be adjusted as necessary to keep the roller free of mud and debris (see photo
5 nos. 7 and 8).
