The mat will keep your pets away from areas which you would like to protect.

NOTE:
•
The Impuls (static stimulation) of the „VOSS.PET Shock Mat” is very low but quite noticeable.
•
The device is not a toy. People should generally avoid touching the electric mat.
•
This mat is intended to be used for dogs and cats only.
•
Do not use it for any other purpose than described in this manual.
•
Suitable for use indoors only.
•
Not suitable for use by children.
Step 1 – Preparing the mat
1.
Remove the lid of the battery compartment: press lightly on the arrow and slide open in the direction of the arrow.
2.
Place three 1.5 V AA batteries inside the compartment. The polarity (+/-) is indicated inside the compartment.
3.
Place the mat flat on a surface with the side of the buttons facing upwards.
4.
Attach the control unit to the training mat using the pushbuttons.
5.
Press down firmly to ensure that the buttons are fixed properly.
6.
You can now test your training mat.
Step 2 - Testing
1.
Slide the control unit switch from OFF to LOW.
2.
The 3 indicator lights (mode indicator) briefly flash one after another, then switches to the first operating mode. Now
you can select the operating mode (STATIC / TONE / TONE + STATIC) by pressing the mode button.
3.
Touch two wires of the mat at the same time with the side of your hand, not the sensitive fingertips in order to test
the functionality of the mat. Instead of your hand, you can also use a screwdriver, pliers or similar to ensure a short
circuit.
4.
As soon as the mat registers a touch, the mode indicator lights up for approximately 7 seconds.
The control unit sends the correction impulse for approximately 7 seconds, depending on the operating mode.
Choosing the right correction level:
Select the setting of the control unit according to the size of your pet. LOW is suitable for small and young cats,
MEDIUM is suitable for adult cats and small dogs, HIGH can be used for long-haired cats, large dogs and at door
entrances, when training the pet not to enter a particular room.
Pets with harder foot pads or higher insulation due to thicker fur require higher settings.
Placement in the household:
Use the electronic pet training mat where your pet is not supposed to rest (on tables, sofas, chairs, kitchen worktops, etc.).
Alternatively, you can block your pet from accessing a specific area by using the mat. For example, by placing the mat in
front of the door to a room or facing a specific object. In order to train your pet not to go through a specific entrance,
we recommend that you keep the door slightly ajar to prevent the animal from running over the mat too fast.
You can also use a large object, for example, a box or a chair as an obstacle. Important is that the door is not closed.
Most pets learn quickly to avoid this area and you can remove the mat soon.
Use with cars:
The training mat can also be used on automobile hoods, roofs and trunks.
Please note:
in humid conditions the mat may leave marks on some vehicle surfaces.
Therefore, always put a cloth under the training mat when used on a vehicle.
Note:
Only suitable for application in a garage or a carport. Do not use outdoors!
Training guide:
The mat operates according to the principle of positive and negative reinforcement.
Your pet will learn to avoid the mat after hearing a sound. TONE + IMPULSE stimulation or IMPULSE stimulation
(without sound) (negative reinforcement). Your pet will soon learn to avoid the „VOSS.PET Shock Mat“ and feel more
comfortable (positive reinforcement).
In some cases, it is not essential to train your pet. The pet will learn to recognize its new boundaries itself.
Observe how your pet behaves in the beginning. Normally, pets learn very quickly.
However, the learning process may take longer. Do not give up if unsuccessful immediately on the first day.
It can take 2 to 4 days until your pet has learned to avoid the electromat.
Safety function:
A built-in safety function turns off the IMPULSE stimulation when your pet is longer than 7 seconds on the mat.
The mat will turn on again after 3 seconds.
Begin the first exercise with your pet:
1.
Move your pet from the „VOSS.PET Shock Mat“.
2.
Select the TONE + IMPULSE function.
3.
Run your pet freely across the mat.
Additional exercise with your pet:
If your pet is confused or unsure and does not know how to behave, there are some things you can try:
1.
Place your dog on a collar with a leash (for cats we recommend a belt).
2.
Let your pet walk across the mat. As soon as you hear a Tone, which means an impulse is emitted simultaneously,
pull your pet off the mat to a safe zone.
3.
Praise your pet every time it leaves the „VOSS.PET Shock Mat“.
4.
Practice this technique a few times until you can see that your pet understood it has to avoid the mat.
IMPORTANT:
Never use force to get your pet on the mat.
Care and cleaning:
The mat is very durable and can be used with correct care for many years. It is water-repellent, cold-resistant
up to -18 ° Celsius and UV-resistant. The mat is not damaged if stepped on.
Please note:
•
Clean the training mat with a cloth and mild soapy water.
•
Do not immerse the mat in the water.
•
Make sure that the control unit does not come into contact with water.
•
Make sure the mat is off during cleaning and the batteries are removed.
IMPORTANT:
The mat should be stored as you received it. This prevents accidental folding and bending of the inner
conductive wires. If the mat is not properly stored, the warranty claim is no longer valid.
