Exhaust Gas Recirculation Components
Inspect EGR valve, pipe and manifold nipple at 15,000 miles service intervals.
To remind the driver about the EGR service or the oxygen sensor service, there is a special service
reminder light (see

) which comes on at 15,000 miles intervals.

This is a reminder to have the EGR valve or the oxygen sensor serviced. The light will stay on until
reset.

Air Injection Reactor System
This system admits fresh air to the hot exhaust gases in the exhaust manifold. The fresh air will burn the
unburned portion of the exhaust gases to reduce hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide contents.
The air pump is located on the right side of the engine and driven by a belt.
