Inserting batteries, changing batteries

•  If the battery comes already inserted and connected, the meter is switched on by briefly

pressing the I/O button “ ” (6).

•  If you need to insert or change the battery remove the rubber jacket (1). You can remove the

meter by pushing on the back of the housing surface with the sensor (7).

•  Open the battery compartment by undoing the screw on the battery compartment cover and

then remove the cover.

•  Connect the battery clip with a 9 V block battery. Observe the correct polarity.
•  Insert the 9 V block battery into the battery compartment and close it again. Insert the meter

into the rubber jacket.

•  Change the battery when the display contrast sharply decreases or the “

” icon appears.

A dead battery can cause malfunctions, so you should replace the battery in time. Dead bat-

teries can leak and may damage the product and thus resulting in loss of warranty!

For operational safety reasons, use only disposable batteries; do not use recharge-

able batteries.

Operation

If the display is covered by a protective film, remove it.

a) On/Off switch

Switch on the meter by pressing the I/O “ ” button (6) briefly. All display segments flash briefly

(not all segments will be used as the display is also used for other meters). Then the meter per-

forms a calibration; the count-down from “10” to “0” is displayed. If the calibration is successful,

the meter beeps and the normal indicators on the display are shown.

  Attention, important!

The meter may only be switched on and calibrated in a CO-free environment. If

this is not followed, the meter may not function properly which may generate other

hazards!

That is why you should not switch-on and calibrate the meter at the place where you

intend to perform the measurement.

If need to recalibrated he meter again, switch it off and then on again, see above.

Press the I/O button “ ” (6) to turn the device off.

The meter switches off automatically after 15 minutes to save energy (except when

in metering mode).

b) Selecting the functions

Briefly press the “MODE” button (4) to select the various functions:
•  Metering mode (perform measurement)

The display shows “CO”, the current measured value and „ppm“. This mode allows for con-

tinuous measurements and the measured value is updated in the display.
Similar to a Geiger counter, the meter emits sound signals (the higher the reading, the more

beeps). You can switch these sound signals off (see description in the section “Alarm sound

mode” below).
The backlight is turned on or off by holding down the “SEL” button a bit longer.

•  Maximum mode (display of the maximum measured value)

The display shows “CO MAX REC” and the maximum CO value (in ppm) measured in meas-

uring mode.
When you turn off the meter, the stored maximum value is cleared.

•  Memory display mode (show stored readings)

The display shows “CO MEM” and the number of the memory (0 ... 9) as well as the CO value

stored in the memory (in ppm).
By briefly pressing the “SEL” button (5), you can select one of the 10 memories (displayed in

the upper right corner “0” ... “9”).

•  Memory mode (saving measured values)

The display shows “CO REC” and the number of the memory (0 ... 9).
By briefly pressing the “SEL” button (5), the current measured value is stored in the currently

selected memory. After that the memory number increases by one.
If you want to store the measured value in a specific memory, select first the memory number

within the memory display mode and then switch to the memory mode using the “MODE”

button.

•  Alarm mode (beep)

The display shows “CO MAX” and a CO value of 30 ppm.
If the current reading is more than 30 ppm and less than 200 ppm, the meter will alert you and

beeps. If the reading exceeds 200 ppm, the meter beeps continuously.
In both cases, the LED (3) lights up red.
Press and hold the “SEL” button (5) for eight seconds to enter manual zeroing. The value “0”

on the display flashes for a few seconds and then the meter beeps and returns to measuring

mode.

  Attention, important!

The meter may only be calibrated in a CO-free environment. If this is not followed,

the meter may not function properly which may involve other hazards!

•  Measuring time mode (displays the measuring time)

The display shows “CO TIME” and the measuring time elapsed so far. This is automatically

reset when the meter is switched off.

Power save function is disabled in this mode.

•  Alarm tone mode (to turn beeps on/off)

The display shows “on” or “off ” in this mode. The meter’s tone signal is switched on (’on’) or

off (’oFF’) by briefly pressing the “SEL” button.
For safety reasons, the icon “ ” is shown in the display when the alarm is switched off to

alert you that the sound signal has been switched off.

c) Power-saving function

The meter switches off automatically after 15 minutes to save energy (except when in metering

mode).

Cleaning

•  Turn off the measurement device before every cleaning.
•  Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
•  Never use abrasive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these

could damage the casing or even impair operation.

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable and do not belong in the household waste. Dis-

pose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-

tions.

Remove any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.

b) Batteries/rechargeable batteries

As the end user, you are required, by law, (Battery Ordinance) to return all spent batteries/

rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.

Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the

symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The

symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the

marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath the re-

fuse bin symbol shown on the left).

You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-

lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable

batteries are sold.
That way you fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environ-

ment.
