OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
While operating the hedge trimmer you observe certain
precautions and procedures of use in order to avoid accidents,
damage and increase the efficiency of the hedge trimmer:
▪
Ensure that you start the hedge trimmer at a distance of
more than 3m from the fuelling site;
▪
Always hold the hedge trimmer with both hands;
▪
Be very careful when cutting small branches or bushes that
could jam the blade or be thrown back at you, causing you to
lose your balance or injuries;
▪
If you hear an unusual noise or the hedge trimmer vibrates
abnormally, stop work and identify the cause;
▪
Never operate a damaged hedge trimmer.
Starting the engine
1.
Unscrew and remove the fuel tank cap;
2.
Lay the appliance on a flat and steady surface. Keep the blade
off the ground and away from objects as it starts to run after
the engine is started;
3.
Press the carburettor primer bulb several times until it fills
completely;
4.
While the engine is cold, set the choke lever to the closed
position;
5.
Set the switch to position (I);
6.
While holding the appliance firmly, pull the recoil starter
until the hedge trimmer switches on;
7.
Move the choke lever down and start the engine;
8.
When starting the engine shortly after it has been shut off
and it is still warm, leave the choke lever in the open position;
9.
Excess air can cause start-up failure due to excess fuel. When
the engine fails after several attempts, set the choke lever to
open position and pull the recoil starter. If it continues to fail,
remove the spark plug and clean it.
Before starting the hedge trimmer engine, check that the
blade is not touching any object.
Stopping the engine
1.
Release the throttle trigger and let the engine run for half a
minute;
2.
Press the switch to the "O" position.
Except in an emergency, avoid stopping the engine while
pressing the throttle trigger. In case of imminent danger
or emergency, stop the engine immediately. Set the "I/O"
switch to the "O" position.
Fuel
The engine should run on a mixture of 95 unleaded petrol and
2-stroke engine oil in the ratio of 1:40 (1L of two-stroke engine
oil for every 40L of petrol).
1.
Pour the 2-stroke engine oil in a fuel mixing bottle;
2.
Add petrol to 2-stroke engine oil;
3.
Place the mixing bottle cap and shake carefully to mix the oil
with petrol;
Unsuitable fuels or with a different ratio than recommended
may lead to irreversible damage to the engine. Low-quality
petrol or oil can damage the engine, gaskets, hoses and the fuel
tank.
Keep the fuel mixture in proper and adequate containers in a
safe, dry, cool place protected from sunlight. Keep the fuel
mixture in proper and adequate containers in a safe, dry, cool
place protected from sunlight. Do not store or use fuel with
more than 30 days.
Shake the fuel mixing bottle before refuelling.
Pressure may form inside the tank, for this reason it shall
be opened carefully. Avoid direct skin contact and
inhalation of flammable vapours.
When refilling the fuel tank,
do not add petrol above the
maximum level of the filler cap.
