IRIS
Electronic Light Control (ELC)
When using a fixed or manual iris lens, the
camera's ELC can adjust for moderate changes in
illumination levels. While it is fine for indoor
applications in fixed illumination conditions, a
fixed iris and ELC circuitry cannot approach the
range of illumination usable with an auto-iris lens
and ALC circuitry.
Automatic Light Control (ALC)
When using an auto-iris lens, the ALC circuitry
samples the illumination level and automatically
adjusts the iris to create the proper sized aperture
for proper exposure.
