•
Set the switch (at the front of the unit) to the left - OFF
position.
•
Remove the battery cover (see Figure 2). Snap the battery
connector onto a 9 Volt battery.
Important: Use Alkaline battery only.
•
Close the battery compartment cover and allow the unit to
stabilize for 5 minutes.

When you want to disable or to move the MINI-ALERT, set the
slide switch to the left - OFF position.
To enable the MINI-ALERT, set the slide switch to the right - ON
position. A single short duration beep will sound, indicating that
the unit has turned ON.
A delay timer of approximately 15 seconds will begin to operate,
giving you enough time to exit the unit's field of view. If you
remain in the unit's field of view after this delay, an alarm may
sound.
If you wish to test the MINI-ALERT, deliberately walk across its
field of view. Upon detecting your motion, the MINI-ALERT will
sound for about 5 seconds, or for as long as your motion
continues. Move out of the unit's field of view, and the unit will
stop sounding.
The MINI-ALERT is now ready to signal when someone crosses
its field of view.

If the sound level is too high
or too low, you can select
the sound level with the
sound level control jumper.
See Figure 4.
The highest sound level is
obtained with the jumper
mounted across the two
pins (as supplied). To
reduce the sound level,
remove the jumper entirely
or mount it on one of the
pins, so it will not get lost.

Test the MINI-ALERT by moving across its field of view, in the
direction of the motion that you want to detect. Be sure to use the
object to be detected (child, adult, animal, etc.), when testing the
MINI-ALERT. Verify that motion is indeed detected at the
pre-planned location, otherwise the unit may fail to warn when
required to do so.
The unit should be tested each time you turn it ON (enabled). If
the unit is to remain constantly ON, it should be tested daily, to
assure proper operation.
If the MINI-ALERT does not function properly, immediately
replace the battery and retest. If the MINI-ALERT still does not
function properly, return it for repair.
Important: The battery must be replaced at least once a year,
even if the MINI-ALERT is operating properly.
If the unit is used frequently and sounds more than 20 times a
day, the battery will have to be replaced more often.

The following examples are different uses of the MINI ALERT,
which are only a small part of the numerous possible
applications.
Warning:
It should be basically clear to the user that the
MINI-ALERT is suitable for various alert functions as desired,
provided that the user understands that Visonic Ltd. is not
responsible in any way for the results, which depend entirely
on the user’s own planning. The user’s consent to the above is
a precondition to the purchase and use of the MINI-ALERT.
