CRUISE
The cruising altitude should be selected based on trip length, winds aloft and the aircraft
’s
performance. Power setting for cruise must be based on several considerations which
include the cruise performance characteristics presented in Figure 5-1 and the
relationship between power and range. Considerable fuel savings and longer range result
when lower power settings and higher cruise altitudes are used.
