Isolated By-alarm interface for BUS signal regeneration over 1000 m.
The interface must be used when there is a need to isolate two stretches of RS485
bus of the By-alarm system galvanically.
CHARACTERISTICS
• Supply voltage: 12 V SELV +/- 20%
• Absorption: 25 mA
• Operating temperature: -10..+40°C (indoor use)
• Isolation: 2500 Vrms
• Two sets of terminals (5 + 5) on the non-isolated side.
These terminals are the input for data signals A, B, for the power supply of the
board on the non-isolated side and for the control signal DE.
• One set of 5 terminals on the isolated side:
- ISO_A and ISO_B are the isolated data signals.
- ISO+ and ISO- to connect the power supply unit on the isolated side.
- ISO_DE is the isolated control signal.
• Degree of safety: 2 (EN 50131-3)
• Ambient class: II (EN 50131-3)
OPERATION
The interface galvanically isolates two stretches of RS485 bus, regenerating the use-
ful signal. The device should be used in installations with a stretch of underground
bus cable outside the building and in installations with earth loop problems.
INSTALLATION RULES
Installation should be carried out in compliance with the current regulations regard-
ing the installation of electrical equipment in the country where the products are
installed.
• Depending on the type of connection made, the interface 01711 must be installed
inside the control unit or the auxiliary power supply unit.
• For the By-alarm interface 01711 to work properly, you should always power the
isolated side and the non-isolated side with two separate 12 V power supplies.
For the installation diagrams in which the isolated By-alarm interface is used, please
see the installer's manual for the control panels 01700-01700.120 and 01703-
01703.120.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Standard EN 50131-3.
EMC directive.
Standards EN 50130-4, EN 61000-6-3.
WEEE - User information
The crossed bin symbol on the appliance or on its packaging indicates that
the product at the end of its life must be collected separately from other
waste. The user must therefore hand the equipment at the end of its life
cycle over to the appropriate municipal centres for the differentiated col-
lection of electrical and electronic waste. As an alternative to independent
management, you can deliver the equipment you want to dispose of to the
dealer when purchasing a new appliance of an equivalent type. You can also
deliver electronic products to be disposed of that are smaller than 25 cm for
free, with no obligation to purchase, to electronics retailers with a sales area
of at least 400 m

. Proper sorted waste collection for subsequent recycling,
processing and environmentally conscious disposal of the old equipment
helps to prevent any possible negative impact on the environment and human
health while promoting the practice of reusing and/or recycling materials used
in manufacture.
