Connecting the remote boot release
When connecting the boot release wire a relay is required as the
signal has a low current which can cause the boot release solenoid
to operate ineffectively. The diagram to the right shows how to
wire both 4 pin & 5 pin relays.
4 pin & 5 pin relays.
a.)
Connect relay pins 86 & 87 to a +12v CONSTANT power source
b.)
Connect alarms GRAY(-) boot release wire to relay pin 85.
c.)
Connect boot r) terminal to relay pin 30.
How it works:
Relay 86 & 87 pins have a +12v supply all the time, when the relay
terminal 85 receives the (-) neg. signal from the alarm module it
momentarily connects terminals 87 & 30 which powers the boot
release solenoid to release the boot latch.
