Changing the wax
guard
To remove an old wax guard remove the dome, then screw the
threaded end of the wax guard changing tool into the filter of the
external receiver and pull to remove the used wax guard. To replace
flip the tool over and push the new wax guard into place. Release
the filter by tilting the changing tool to the side. Then dispose of the
changing tool.

A wax guard is used to protect the internal components from
exposure to wax and dust. We strongly recommend inspecting the
wax guard each time before wearing the hearing aid. It is quite
common for wax to be picked up even from the first time the
hearing aid is worn. There is no specific time frame recommended
between wax guard changes as this varies considerably across
individuals. Some hearing aid wearers change them every week.
