Reception quality
The reception quality indicates how strong the mobile
network signal is in the current location and at the cur-
rent time, in other words how good the reception is.
The weaker the reception quality, the more likely it is
that the connection will fail and that the transmission
quality will be poor.
Continuous operation of the Vitocom 100 is only possi-
ble if reception quality indicator "2" illuminates green
(100 % reception quality).
Heating circuit
A heating circuit is a sealed unvented circuit that con-
nects the boiler and radiators and in which the heating
water circulates.
A heating system may comprise several heating cir-
cuits. For example, one heating circuit for the rooms
occupied by you and one heating circuit for the rooms
of a separate apartment.
PIN
The four digit PIN ("Personal Identification Number")
protects the SIM card from misuse. The PIN must be
entered when the appliance is switched on to enable
full access to the SIM card. If the PIN is entered incor-
rectly three times the SIM card will be blocked. Before
the card can be used again, a PUK unblock key is
required.
PUK
The eight-digit PUK ("Personal Unblocking Key") is
used to unblock the SIM card. The SIM card has to be
unblocked if the incorrect PIN was entered several
(generally 3) times. The PUK is not saved on the
mobile phone. The PUK is specific to the SIM card and
can be requested from the manufacturer.
SIM card
The SIM card ("Subscriber Identity Module") is an inte-
grated circuit card. The SIM card is inserted into a
mobile phone or the Vitocom 100. The SIM card identi-
fies the user within the mobile network. It enables
mobile phone providers to make mobile phone connec-
tions and data connections available to subscribers.
The SIM card is activated by entering the Personal
Identification Number (PIN).
