The following indications are possible for the "Current" LED:
LED Line Test is not lighted:
Current has not been detected on the line. This means...
•
that POTS or ISDN network has not been planned for this
connection, or
•
was erroneously done behind the splitter, or
•
that a fault exists in the connection of the a/b wires.
•
Should the flip-switch be positioned at "ADSL Test," then the LED
will remain inactive as well.
LED Line Test is lighted:
Current has been detected on the line. This means that POTS or ISDN
network has been switched, and that a and b wires are properly
through-connected.
4.5 LED ADSL Test
If the flip-switch is positioned at "ADSL Test," then the green "ADSL
Test" LED indicator shows the status of the real ADSL connection set-
up with the DSL Access Multiplexer in the exchange.
The following indications are possible for the "ADSL Test" LED:
LED ADSL Test is not lighted:
The VIT-A1 DSL-Tester is turned off or else the self-test is still activated
when switching the device on or off in the "ADSL-Test" mode.
LED ADSL Test blinks slowly:
The device continually emitts activation impulses for a connection set-
up with DSLAM. As soon as DSLAM has answered the activation, a
hand-shaking procedure takes place in accord with ITU G.994.1 (first
phase of the ADSL connection set-up).
