When an alternate switch is used, manual
control of the input power through the switch
turns the unit on and off and overrides the
photocell (automatic operation).
MAINTENANCE
Periodically clean the front of the filter
glass with a nonabrasive solution and a soft
cloth. Keep the transformer compartment free
from excessive dust accumulation.
Follow these steps to change a lamp.
Loosen but do not remove the two cover
screws at the bottom rear of the unit.
Swing the bottom of the cover out and down
to remove.
2. Loosen the four screws holding the lamp
assembly within the unit.
3. Slide the lamp assembly out of the housing.
4. Unhook two adjacent springs from lamp
retaining ring and remove lamp.
Unscrew the leads from the terminal lugs
on the rear of the lamp.
6. Replace the lamp.
NOTE--Carefully coat the screw terminals
the
lamp
the wires have
reconnected
with Dow
4 compound to prevent
corrosion of these contacts.
7. Reassemble the unit by reversing these
steps.
To replace a filter :
1. Perform steps 1 through 3 above.
2. Remove the four screws from the front of
the unit.
3. Remove all filter-retaining brackets and
filter.
4. Replace the filter. Make sure that the
soft rubber pads on the mounting brackets
are secure. The metal brackets must not
touch the glass filter. Do not scratch
the filter.
5. Replace the brackets and tighten the
screws firmly, but not excessively.
6. Reassemble the unit as above,
Handle the filter by the edges only. Oil from
fingers on the filter surface will affect the
operation of the illuminator. Clean the
filter only with nonabrasive window cleaner
and a soft cloth.
