VIBE Coaxial Speakers
INSTALLATION
Ensure the mounting hole and depth is correct for the intended speaker, using the included template check the
mounting hole. Be sure to fully investigate the mounting area for electrical wiring, fuel lines, vacuum lines and
moving parts. Ensure the speaker is a good fit and that a perfect seal can be formed around the basket.
WARNING: Before you begin installing any electrical equipment, be sure that all source equipment is
turned off. Failure to do so may result in damage to your equipment, and to yourself!
1.
Using the template mark the mounting holes on the intended surface, pre–drill these holes if
necessary, paying careful attention to the area behind the mounting holes.
2.
If using the mesh grill ensure the plastic surround is mounted under the SR speaker before the
speaker is fixed into place.
3.
Attach the correct wiring to the speaker ensuring the audio source unit is not active, pay careful
attention to polarity/phase. Incorrect polarity will cause severe loss of bass response. Observe
correct wiring for left and right channels, ignoring this will have drastic effects upon stereo audio. The
use of excess length speaker wiring is known to reduce the quality and power of a speaker’s
performance, be sure to cut wiring to suit the speaker location.
4.
Screw the speaker in place using the screws provided and be sure the speaker wiring is not damaged
during or after this process. Ensure the speaker is fixed in place tightly and that there is a good seal
around the basket.
5.
Finally, fit the mesh grill to the plastic surround using the black adhesive pads if necessary. Pay
careful attention to the fitment of the grill, particularly around the tweeter and midrange assembly.
The quality of the performance achieved by the SR speaker is directly linked to how well the speaker is installed,
be sure to follow each of the above stages carefully. Please contact your nearest VIBE dealer if unsure about any
installation issues.
The use of VIBE FLAT speaker cable will guarantee superior performance and excellent bass response from the SR
speaker. Please contact your nearest VIBE dealer or visit our website for full details
IMPORTANT NOTES
§
Never connect any speaker lead to the car chassis – this can cause severe damage to your speaker/car
radio/amplifier.
§
Before drilling or cutting any holes, investigate the layout of your vehicle thoroughly.
§
Use caution when working near hydraulic lines and electrical wiring.
§
Observe the correct polarity when wiring. Loss of bass response may result from out of phase speakers.
§
Ensure the speaker is mounted safely away from moving parts – i.e. door and window handles and window
glass
