Conduct the measurement as follows:
1.
Have the values for the thickness of the fork arm on delivery to hand for compar-
ison purposes.

Use a caliper gage to measure the thickness of the fork arm. Measure the zones
with increased wear.
3.
Determine the wear arithmetically using initial values.
4.
If the thickness of the fork arms is less than 10% of the thickness on delivery,
take the fork arms out of service immediately.

Safety shoes
Observe the following points when cleaning:
n
Clean the fork carrier and fork arms on a regular basis.
n
Do not use high-pressure cleaning devices and do not use any aggressive cleaning
agents. If using cleaning agents, check their compatibility and observe the safety
instructions provided by the manufacturer.
n
Clean the fork blade and back with a broom or brush.
